MATERIALS & CARE

The jewelry in my shop is made from different basic materials. The material used is clearly indicated for each piece of jewelry. Below you will find an overview.

14KT GOLD PLATING, 925 SILVER PLATING OR 14KT ROSE GOLD PLATING

The clasps and parts of most jewelry in this webshop are made of nickel-free metal (copper) as a base. They are provided with high-quality plating: 14kt (rose) gold plating (5 mils) or 925 silver plating (40 mils).

You can safely shower with this jewelry. But be careful with seawater, chlorinated water and chemicals/cleaning agents.

Stainless Steel

There is also a collection available with jewelry made of stainless steel. This is a strong and durable material. The gold-plated and rose gold-plated variants have a 14kt gold layer. The stainless steel jewelry does not discolour.

Don't worry if this jewelry gets wet. They will not discolour. If you have swum in seawater or chlorinated water, rinse your jewelry with water afterwards.

HANDWOVEN BEADED BRACELETS

Made with a base of thick plating (14kt gold plating, 925 silver plating or 14kt rose gold plating).

Beads:
Small Japanese beads were used to weave this bracelet. I use beads with the best coating to prevent discoloration.

Waterproof level:

The materials can withstand water well, but the threads used in weaving should not get wet because they can shrink or deform. It is better not to shower with these bracelets.

925 STERLING SILVER

Mint15 has a small collection of genuine and durable 925 Sterling silver parts with gold/rose gold plating. These become more beautiful with daily wear and do not discolour.

ALLERGY INFORMATION

JEWELRY MAINTENANCE

The base materials of your jewelry are covered with high-quality gold or silver plating and will last a long time if you handle them with love and care. Here you can read how to best care for your jewelry so that it stays sparkling for as long as possible:

» Keep your jewelry dry as much as possible. Avoid contact with moisture and liquids and store them in a dry place.

» Be careful with cleaning products and cosmetics, such as perfume, body lotion, hairspray and other chemicals. For example, put on perfume first and then wear your jewelry.

» Take off your jewelry when swimming. Salt water and chlorinated water can damage your jewelry.

» Store your jewelry in a clean, dry place and store it in a closed box or use bags to prevent it from getting tangled.

» Every skin is different; Due to differences in skin types, discoloration can occur more quickly in some people, because the acidity can be very different.

» The silver-plated parts, like all silver jewelry, can oxidize slightly through contact with light and air. The shiny layer of the silver will then become slightly dull, but you can easily polish it with a clean and soft cloth. The best way to prevent silver oxidation is to store jewelry in a sealed bag when you are not wearing it.

» The stainless steel jewelry can withstand water very well, you can shower with it. Be careful with chemicals, chlorinated water and seawater. Rinse them well if they come into contact with this.

» Some jewelry also contains other materials, such as natural stones or freshwater pearls. It is better not to shower with this, because these natural products are less resistant to this.
